In January 2024, I was guided—spiritually and intuitively—to travel Solo again to Bali. There, in the sacred heart of Ubud, I met a traditional Balinese Balian (Jro)—a lineage healer—who graciously allowed me to witness and receive a form of ancient energy work that felt like a homecoming.
His presence, his touch, and the way he worked with the spirit realm lit a fire in me I can’t explain—only honour.

This year, I will return to Bali not just as a visitor, but to continue the work. To sit again at the feet of a teacher whose wisdom is not found in textbooks, but passed down through prayer, ceremony, and sacred trust.
This journey isn’t about mastering a modality—it’s about deepening a relationship with energy, spirit, and the quiet language of touch. And I carry this with the utmost humility and gratitude.

The Lineage of the Balian: Sacred Healers of Bali
In Balinese culture, a Balian (pronounced bah-lee-ahn) is not just a healer—they are a bridge between the seen and unseen worlds. Some are called by spirit through dreams or illness, while others inherit the path through ancestral lines. A Jero is a specific type of Balian who works with ancestral spirits, often through trance, offerings, and channeling energy.
Balinese healing is deeply spiritual, interwoven with ritual, prayer, and offerings. It is not a commercial service—it is a sacred duty.
These healers are not trained in Western schools but are often chosen by the spirits and mentored by elders. Healing in Bali may involve:
• Energy work through the hands
• Spiritual readings with flower offerings
• Herbal medicine
• Soul retrievals
• And often, messages from unseen forces
There is no separation between spirit and body, between ritual and medicine. Everything is connected. Everything is sacred.
